Feline infectious peritonitis (FIP), also known as feline infectious peritonitis, is usually caused by a mutation of the feline coronavirus that leads to autoimmune symptoms, resulting in systemic vasculitis, granulomas in organs, fluid in the thoracic cavity, and eventually death. Feline transmissible abdomen is generally classified as wet or dry. It can occur at any age, but more than 50% of cats are less than 2 years old. Clinical signs: wet, increased abdominal girth, respiratory distress, etc. Dry, persistent fever (fever not reduced), weight loss, unresponsiveness, inappetence, eye symptoms (anterior chamber clouding, uveitis, etc.) vomiting and diarrhoea. There are medications available, but they take a little longer and are more expensive.
