What to do if your dog coughs a lot

Dogs that are not fully immunised are advised to first rule out viral respiratory diseases such as distemper and adenovirus. For dogs that are fully immunised with antibodies, we recommend that imaging tests are done to look at the respiratory tract and lungs, and for older dogs we recommend that heart problems are considered. We recommend that heart problems are considered in older dogs, and that specific conclusions are drawn before any medication is administered. Remember to go to a regular vet.
