Generally cats with mild eye discharge do not need to worry too much, increased eye discharge needs to be considered for a number of issues. First: inflammation outside the eye, usually seen as irritation, leading to increased tearing. Second: This cat has ectopic or inverted eyelashes. Third: This cat is eating unhealthy food or is salty. Fourth: This cat may have some problems with the nasolacrimal duct, such as obstruction. Fifth: This cat has a viral disease (FHV,FCV, Chlamydia and other conditions).
