Like other companion dogs, the French Bulldog needs human companionship. Owners are advised not to leave their French Bulldog alone for more than a few hours, as this dog can suffer from separation anxiety if left alone for long periods of time. The French Bulldog’s exercise needs are fairly minimal, but they do require short daily walks. They are calm and rarely bark loudly, usually only barking when alerting their owners, making them popular with women and children and the best choice of dog for flat dwellers.
