What is cat-borne abdomen?

Cat-borne abdomen is a chronic infectious disease with a high mortality rate caused by the infectious disease peritonitis in cats. The virus can infect cats of all ages. It is transmitted through the digestive tract, by vector insects and by the placenta. The mortality rate of cats infected with feline peritonitis is over 90 per cent. There is currently no vaccine available to prevent feline transmission.
