A dog with a blackhead-like belly may have fleas, melanin deposits, or a fungal infection. It is important to treat your dog on a case-by-case basis. If your dog has redness, flakes and itching on the belly, it is a skin condition caused by parasites or a fungal infection and you will need to deworm your dog in vitro and then apply medication for fungus to the affected area. If there are no other abnormalities, it is a melanin deposit and will not affect the dog’s health.
