Renal failure in dogs is divided into acute and chronic renal failure. Acute renal failure is mostly caused by urinary closure and poisoning, while chronic renal failure is due to long-term stimulation of the kidneys by toxic and harmful substances. Acute renal failure is generally reversible if treated promptly.
