Common diseases of the Samoyed include: 1. Femoral joint hypoplasia. Femoral joint dysplasia is a common bone and joint disease in the Samoyed. The genetic component of this disease accounts for 70% of the disease and the remaining 30% is caused by obesity or underdeveloped muscles. It is recommended to take the Samoyed to the vet to confirm if the joint is diseased when abnormal symptoms such as the legs moving together when walking are noticed. 2. Allergic dermatitis. Allergic dermatitis is associated with congenital genetic constitution. The Samoyed will frequently scratch its body, chew and lick the affected area, and lose hair on the scratching area. 3. Obesity. Especially in the puppy period, if the fat intake is not controlled, the dog will easily become obese when it grows up. Don’t feed too much and also take your dog out for proper exercise.
