Types of Dogs

Dog types can be classified by size, function and characteristics. There are currently 178 breeds of dogs according to the AKC standard. Some of the most common are the Husky, Chihuahua, Poodle, Pomeranian, Samoyed, Pug, Golden Retriever, Alaskan Sheltie and Corgi.
