Oxytetracycline is a broad-spectrum antimicrobial, belonging to the tetracycline class, with good antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Escherichia coli, Mycoplasma chlamydiae and others. They are mostly used clinically for respiratory infections, pneumonia, intestinal infections and conjunctivitis in dogs.
