The difference between keratitis and conjunctivitis in pet cats

Conjunctivitis is the result of infection of the pink part of the cat’s eye (conjunctiva), while keratitis is the result of infection of the cornea. In cat eye disease, sometimes conjunctivitis occurs alone and sometimes keratitis and conjunctivitis occur together, when it is called feline keratoconjunctivitis. There are very many types of bacteria and viruses that can cause conjunctivitis or keratitis. These bacteria and viruses can be passed from mother cat to her children, most commonly from cat to cat.
