Dogs with trichomoniasis infection will have mild to severe diarrhoea and may have blood in their faeces. Infection is caused by eating contaminated food and water, or by sniffing the bottom of another dog with eggs or leaves of grass that have eggs in them. Infected dogs may have a reduced appetite, poor mental condition and may even develop a fever. It is important to take the dog to a specialist vet for treatment.
