Symptoms of tick bites in dogs

The following symptoms may occur after a dog has been bitten by a tick: i. The skin of the bite area is red, swollen and itchy, and the dog scratches frequently causing the area to break down. ii. Secondly, it causes skin irritation, resulting in an allergic dermatitis and a generalised red rash in the dog. If ticks are found on the dog, it is recommended that in vitro deworming is used promptly to avoid transmission to the dog owner.
