The affected cat is abnormally excited, with stiff limbs and continuous tonic muscle spasms and convulsions; unable to stand, eyes vibrating, pupils dilated, conjunctiva flushed; foaming at the mouth, ruddy mouth, tongue constantly extended outwards, edges bitten and bleeding; impaired consciousness, unresponsive, head and neck tilted back, tail cocked in a horned position; body temperature between 39°C and 42°C.
