Short-haired Cat Breeds

There are many varieties of short-haired cats, including the British Shorthair, American Shorthair, Blue Cat, Golden Gradient, Silver Gradient, Siamese Cat and Cavy Cat. The main difference between short-haired cats and long-haired cats is the difference in the length of the hair and the number of layers of hair, with short-haired cats having only two layers of hair and long-haired cats having three. The length of the fur is determined by genetics, and a few short-haired cats will revert to long-haired cats during the breeding process.
