Although not as intelligent as the Border Collie, the Scottie has one of the highest IQs of any dog. He is very loyal, gentle and approachable, energetic outdoors, affectionate towards his owner, wary of strangers and able to communicate well with his owner. In the case of the Sioux Shepherd, once they have decided on an owner they will not change and they will be loyal and obedient to them.
