Once a dog develops ascites, it is a more serious condition. Symptoms of hepatic ascites: yellowing of the whole body (skin, conjunctiva, mouth, ears), wilting, lack of exercise, increase in abdominal girth, some skin marks on palpation and finger pressure. Severe abdominal tenderness may occur.
