The Caucasian is not suitable for families as it is large and requires a great deal of exercise and space, which most families certainly do not have. Secondly, large dogs are no longer allowed in cities, and it is easy to be arrested for walking them. The Caucasian is also a serious shedder and the seasonal change of hair can be quite frightening for families. The Caucasian is generally fine in rural areas, where there are few people and plenty of space.
