The hair on the back of the cat’s ears may be a little bald due to the following reasons: Firstly, marsupial fungus. Cats with Marsella fungus will have flushed, or pus-filled ears. Secondly, baldness on the back of the ears caused by ear mites. Cats with ear mites have more black discharge inside the ears and itchy ears. Regular in vitro deworming of the cat is usually required. If owners are unsure which condition is causing the problem, it is best to take the cat to the vet for examination and confirmation of treatment.
