Is it normal for a dog’s tongue to be white?

Hello, the dog’s tongue is often clinically referred to as the visible mucous membrane and is generally a light pink colour with a few special breeds having melanin deposits as black. If the tongue is white it is generally considered that the dog may be anaemic and a blood test is recommended along with nutritional supplements.
