Erythromycin ointment can be used in dogs with sepsis, although only if it is caused by bacteria sensitive to macrolides. It is also recommended that prolonged use of antibiotics is more effective in treating sepsis. Families who are able to do so may consider doing a drug sensitivity test first, and then choosing antibiotics would be better.
