Canine distemper is a canine infection that belongs to animal disease category 3 and is mainly transmitted through direct contact with the canine animal, but can also be transmitted through air or food, and is highly contagious with a mortality rate of over 80%. Distemper is a dog-to-dog infection and is not contagious to humans.
