Dogs with distemper need to be checked in hospital. Fluids are usually required as most dogs with this condition are likely to be dehydrated and need to be rehydrated to maintain their condition. Respiratory treatment is also required, followed by fever reduction as distemper can be febrile, followed by biological agents such as interferon and monoclonal antibodies.
