Arthritis in dogs is usually found in older dogs. Dogs with this condition are simply more painful. Once diagnosed, most dogs with osteoarthritis are managed with medication such as pain medication, joint maintenance medication, prescription joint food, anti-inflammatory medication, joint seal injections, etc. Dogs with arthritis are advised not to over-activate. In a few cases this can be resolved by surgery.
