If your dog is tempted by a friend who has never met your dog before, feeding him an untouched food, he will not hesitate to open his mouth, so tug back on the leash and say “no” in a stern tone. When the dog looks back at you, offer him his usual snack as a reward. If repeated training doesn’t have any effect, slap your dog’s mouth as he opens it to make him realise that eating strangers’ food will result in a beating.
