Clinically speaking, cats with cat moss will have crusty skin, localised hair loss and general or localised itching. This recommendation requires a systematic skin examination in hospital. Alternatively a Wood’s lamp will be illuminated with a green fluorescent light. Of course this can only mean that it may be suspected. A definite diagnosis still requires a microscopic search for fungal elements.
