The purebred Shiba Inu has a medium sized head in proportion to its body, triangular shaped eyes with dark brown eyeballs, a straight nose and ears that stand upwards. The Shiba Inu has an athletic, well-proportioned body with muscular limbs, a strong, stout tail and a short, smooth coat. The Shiba Inu will shed, usually more severely in season.
