The Old Shepherd is a large dog and should be kept on an even nutritional diet and fed, preferably on dog food. The coat is long and needs frequent bathing and trimming, as well as daily grooming to avoid tangles. For a healthy dog, regular vaccinations and external and internal deworming are also necessary.
