How to protect your dog from the sun in summer

Dogs have underdeveloped sweat glands and mainly breathe through their open mouths to dissipate heat, the sweat glands in their skin and foot pads are less effective at dissipating heat. To prevent heatstroke in summer, give your dog plenty of water and choose to walk your dog in the morning and evening when it is not so hot, avoid taking your dog out at midday.
