It is advisable to feed better quality dog food, as homemade dog food is more troublesome and sometimes some nutritional balance is difficult to achieve. Put the cornmeal and white flour in a bowl in a ratio of 2:1. Wash and peel the carrots and cut them into small pellets, or better still, boil them and make a puree. Beat the eggs, mix well and pour into the basin depending on the amount of cornmeal and flour you have, one egg a day is enough for your dog. Boiled bone broth, pork and chicken bones are fine. Minced meat is also fine, but don’t overdo it for your puppy at one meal. Just make sure it’s under 2 taels a day. Make it plain and put nothing in it. Don’t put salt in either. Pour the simmering bone broth into a pot, stir everything in the pot together and put it on the steamer to steam the nest. Once the nest is steamed, put it into a dog-friendly mixing bowl and crumble it up so it can be absorbed. Add the cooked meat to the mixing bowl and pour some of the simmering bone broth over it. If you find that your dog’s tears are coloured and stain the hairy beans under his eyes, reduce the amount of salt (you should add it to the bone broth when making the nest, and even more so when making rice mix after the nest has been steamed).
