A silver tabby kitten can be judged by the shape of its face, eyes, ear position and coat colour. A silver gradient kitten with excellent looks has green, blue or yellow-green eyes and a black eye line around the periphery of the eyes. The coat is white on the bottom of the skin, white on the back and sides, and one eighth of the tail above the tip of the coat is gradually changing to grey or dark grey. The rest of the face, ears and chest are very light white, shiny and short, with no long hairs interspersed. The Silver Gradient has a rounded face and the nose is usually cherry pink or brick red with a visible black noseline and black paw pads.
