The Afghan Hound should be well-proportioned, with a high and strong neck, a deep chest and a slightly contracted abdomen. The body also has long, dense hair on the sides and front and hind limbs, long, shiny hair on the ears and tail and on the top of the head. The hair on the back and shoulders is shorter.
