Once a dog has developed symptoms of gastroenteritis, with vomiting and diarrhoea, it will depend on the size of the dog. Generally small problems may be restored to normal by fasting and water fasting, generally the time of fasting and water fasting is seen to vary from 6 to 12 hours, if vomiting and diarrhoea still occurs, it is recommended to take the dog to the hospital for medical attention.
