How long can a cat with congenital heart disease live?

The chances of a cat suffering from heart disease are very high. However, many cats’ symptoms will not be obvious and many owners even learn that their cat has heart disease only after an unintentional medical examination. Many cats with heart disease also have a high quality of life and do not suffer too much from the effects of heart disease on their lives. However, a full body check-up is usually recommended 1-2 times a year for cats over 6 years of age, especially for cats that already have heart disease, and regular follow-up ultrasounds are recommended. If there are no serious symptoms or proper care, cats can still live a very long life.
