Early signs of liver ascites

In animals with hepatic ascites there is an initial increase in temperature, localised swelling, palpation and possibly pain. It may gradually become larger and more volatile, with severe skin breakdown and sepsis may occur if not treated properly. Later on, fluid may develop in the abdominal cavity. Liver tests and treatment are required.
