Dogs with foot and mouth disease symptoms

Foot-and-mouth disease is a disease caused by the foot-and-mouth disease virus, but you can rest assured that the virus only infects even-hoofed animals, such as horses, cattle, sheep and camels. Dogs are not even hoofed animals, so they are not susceptible to FMD. The usual method of preventing FMD in even-hoofed animal hospitals is vaccination. If an animal is found to be suspected of being infected with the FMD virus, it should be immediately cordoned off in situ for disinfection, isolation, control and even trapping.
