Dogs with black gums

There are several reasons why your dog’s gums are black: first, the dog is old and the gums are black because of normal pigmentation. Secondly, the dog has not brushed its teeth and the black substance on the gums is a deposit of food residue. You can give your dog a special toothbrush and toothpaste for dogs to brush their teeth, or you can choose such products as tooth cleaning cream or mouthwash to clean your dog’s mouth. Thirdly, if there is a problem with the dog’s mouth, observe whether the dog has red, swollen or bleeding gums in addition to blackened gums, and if so, recommend that the dog be taken to an animal hospital for diagnosis and treatment as soon as possible.
