Do you have to dump the cat litter after deworming?

It is best to empty all the cat litter in a week or so, clean the litter tray and replace it with clean cat litter. If the cat deworming is a therapeutic deworming, i.e. when parasites are found in the body, all the cat litter in the litter tray needs to be emptied, cleaned and replaced with new litter. At the same time, the home needs to be disinfected with the appropriate deworming treatment to avoid parasite eggs adhering to the sofa and carpet. However, if it is only a routine preventative deworming, the cat litter does not need to be emptied after deworming, it only needs to be changed as often as the litter is normally changed.
