Montelukast should be taken with warm water. Montelukast stops diarrhoea by adsorption and should not be taken for long periods of time. Overdosing can easily lead to constipation. There are several causes of diarrhoea in dogs: improper diet, parasitic infections, viral infections, etc. For example: micro virus, coronavirus. Owners should be more observant and take their dogs to the hospital if they have other symptoms besides diarrhoea (e.g. poor spirits, fever, etc.) to be checked and treated after diagnosis.
