Distemper Symptoms

If your dog is showing neurological signs it means that the condition has reached an advanced stage. In the early stages, the dog will have a partial appetite, be in good spirits, have a high and low temperature, and have fluidy eye discharge. In the later stages, seizure-like symptoms such as convulsions and unsteady walking are often present. Distemper is the number one infectious disease in dogs and is highly contagious and deadly. After recovery, certain symptoms may remain with the dog for the rest of its life, and it usually has lifelong immunity after being cured of distemper.
