Heart disease in dogs can manifest itself in the following ways: firstly, the dog is mentally confused, weak, weight loss and has a distended abdomen. Secondly, coughing, breathing difficulties, fainting, loss of appetite, irritable thirst and ascites. Thirdly, palpation of the heart area may be felt as rapid and arrhythmic heart beats.
