As a companion dog, the Pekingese is a sticky dog, friendly and loyal to its owner. It is small, strong, energetic and has a strong protective behaviour. Disadvantages are also apparent, such as a particular tendency to bark and a tendency for the coat to get tangled. However, this does not in any way detract from the fact that it makes a good companion dog.
