Cat Breeding

Mating activity in cats generally reaches its peak in spring and decreases in summer. Usually, cats do not come into heat from October to December. Signs of oestrus in female cats include a gentler temperament than usual, reduced appetite, more frequent urination, a preference for owner touch and rubbing the belly against the ground. During the breeding season, the male cat is more sensitive and does not like to be approached by the owner, his appetite decreases and his urination location is not fixed. At this time, the male cat can hear the female cat’s cry or smell her from a distance. Once a female cat in heat is found, he will prowl around her and hiss and urinate to stimulate her to mate.
