Dogs can eat cat food once or twice a week. Dogs and cats need different nutrients and if cat food is fed to dogs for a long period of time, it is likely to cause problems such as deficiencies in certain trace elements or malnutrition in dogs. Cats need a certain amount of taurine to maintain their eyesight, whereas dogs do not need additional taurine.
