Punishment is not recommended. Many people now have dogs as companions, then when a dog does something wrong, some owners ask for it to be punished. Dogs are not the same as people, they are animals that walk on all fours. When punished standing, the damage to the bones, joints, and cartilage of the body is greater, and in serious cases arthritis, deformation of the lumbar spine, or even paralysis may occur.
