Can distemper be cured?

Canine distemper virus infection is usually treated with non-specific and supportive therapies. The disease commonly involves secondary bacterial infections of the intestinal and respiratory systems and requires the use of biological agents such as interferon, electrolyte supplementation and control of bacterial infections. The mortality rate is relatively high, with a clinical mortality rate of 80 per cent.
