Generally, cats do not heal themselves from a severe blow to the head. A severe blow to the head can easily cause scalp and eye damage and even intracranial damage in cats. Clinical signs are concussion and brain contusion. Intracranial injuries require prompt medical attention for recovery, so it is highly unlikely that a cat with a blow to the head will heal on its own. Owners are advised not to take any chances as this may delay treatment.
