The Australian Cattle Dog is alert, resourceful, brave, honest and absolutely loyal to its duties making it an ideal working dog. Its loyalty and protective abilities are invaluable to the rancher, to the herd and to the property, and are suited to hot weather. However, being by nature an active household breed, it must be kept with sufficient exercise and is not suitable for city life or as a companion for children.
