The Alaskan Sled Dog is also known as the Alaskan Eskimo, Malamute Sled Dog and Alaskan Malamute Sled Dog. It is one of the oldest sled dogs. This dog has a well-proportioned physique, tenacity and endurance. Its name originates from the Malamute people who lived in western Alaska and were used to hunt animals such as polar bears and wolves, as well as to guard caribou.
