Symptoms of shock in dogs
Shortness of breath and weakness.
The dog appears very weak and trembles

The flesh of the dog’s teeth bounces back slowly or not at all when pressed with a finger.

Dog shock first aid measures
1、If there is bleeding, do compression bandaging before taking other measures.
2、Don’t let the dog eat or drink anything.
3, do not let the dog run around again, but let it lie on its side.
4、Keep breathing open, clean the airway if necessary (for example, with vomit), and then pull out the dog’s tongue.
5、Straighten the dog’s neck.
6、Keep the dog warm.
7、Avoid noise.
8、Visit a veterinarian immediately.
9、Only if there is no more breathing and the heart has stopped beating.

When the dog’s heart is no longer beating, open its eyelids, you can see the pupils dilated, dull eyes.
At this point, if the dog’s breathing has also stopped, we must implement cardiac massage or CPR resuscitation.

Be sure to let your veterinarian teach you how to do CPR for your dog. Wrong actions can even cause life-threatening. Only if the dog is not breathing and heartbeat, without resuscitation measures will die, CPR resuscitation can be used this method.

2、Hold the dog’s mouth with both hands
Clasp the dog’s mouth with both hands, so that the air blown in does not leak out of the dog’s mouth again.
3、Artificial respiration
Put your mouth firmly against the dog’s nose and do 2-3 breaths.
The size of your exhalation force should be adjusted according to the size of the dog. Pay special attention when giving artificial respiration to puppies (danger of lung rupture).

Use the palm heel of one hand on the lower third of the dog’s sternum, and the other hand on this hand.
Especially small dogs use only the thumb and index finger to press the chest cavity.

Carefully press both hands (puppy – thumb and forefinger) rhythmically downward on the sternum (puppy – chest cavity).
When touching the heart area, press the hands downward in short, strong strokes, then immediately relax. Repeat this heart massage movement at a rhythm of about 20 times every 15 seconds.
The size of the force exerted by the hands should be adjusted according to the size of the dog’s body (to avoid rib breakage).
